21.04.2011

The Chinese agricultural delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture Chen Xiaohua is visiting Estonia to establish contacts with Estonian agricultural enterprises, in order to enliven trade relations between the two countries.

"As a big country, China clearly understands the challenges ahead regarding global food security and is, therefore, searching for cooperation partners all over the world", said the Minister of Agriculture of Estonia Helir-Valdor Seeder. "It is definitely a good opportunity for the Estonian entrepreneurs to increase their export volumes."

A business forum between the Chinese delegation and Estonian entrepreneurs shall take place today at hotel Olümpia. Furthermore, the ministers of China and Estonia shall sign a Memorandum of Cooperation today, which establishes the directions of cooperation between the two countries.

In addition, the Chinese delegation will visit Kadarbiku Farm, the Competence Center of Food and Fermentation Technologies, the Animal Breeders Association of Estonia and Estonia Ltd.
