Future of the Common Agricultural Policy

In connection with the recent developments of agricultural markets and the changes in climatic conditions and the expectations of the society, there is now a need for the harmonization and simplification of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) of the European Union, smaller regulation of internal markets, larger justification for the payment of agricultural support and environmentally friendlier agriculture.

In order to ensure the mentioned goals, two processes were ongoing at the same time: the review of the CAP, i.e. Health Check (which has been concluded by now) and the discussion regarding the challenges of the agricultural policy in the future. Here, you will find information on the positions of Estonia related to the Health Check, as well as the future debates of the CAP.
