7. February 2011 - 0:00

The Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the UN (FAO) Jacques Diouf and the Minister of Agriculture of Estonia Helir-Valdor Seeder are signing an agreement via Skype on Monday on establishing an Estonian Skype contact centre in Rome at the headquarters of FAO.

The agreement is signed via Skype and in its framework, a contact centre with two videophones is created at the headquarters of FAO in Rome. Estonia supports the establishment of the contact centre with 13 700 Euros and the agreement is valid for three years.

According to the Estonian representative to FAO Ruve Schank, one goal of the centre is to bring Estonia closer to those FAO members who have not really been aware of our country so far. "On the other hand, we can offer a possibility for free communication with our homeland for the representatives of countries with more modest possibilities," said Schank.
