Minister Ivari Padar met with the new ambassador of Poland

On 22 October, Minister Ivari Padar was paid a visit by the new Ambassador of Poland, H. E. Mr Robert Filipczak.

The items of common interest were discussed: how to promote our region and products and to develop cooperation with partners in the region and in the Eastern countries – Agroforum Mare Balticum, Baltic Sea Culinary Routes; Agri-Trade and Economic Cooperation Forum between China and Central-Eastern European Countries in Bucharest; Russian embargo on agricultural products and its impacts; African swine fever.

Supplementary budget to boost rural economy with 200 million euros

The adoption of the supplementary budget at the Estonian Parliament gave a green light to direct 200 million euros to the agriculture, food, fisheries, forestry and other rural enterprise sectors to alleviate the impact of the coronavirus crisis to businesses and ensure the preservation of the country’s food security.

RDF Supervisory Board approves support measure conditions for rural enterprises struggling due to the coronavirus

The Supervisory Board of the Rural Development Foundation of Estonia (RDF) approved the conditions for financial measures aimed towards rural enterprises currently struggling as a result of the coronavirus. These measures will help to alleviate the economic difficulties of bioeconomy businesses and rural enterprises that were induced by the coronavirus outbreak.
