Second Agroforum Balticum to take place in Tartu in April 2014

The second international discussion forum Agroforum Balticum will take place in Tartu, Estonia in April 23, 2014. This time, the main topics of discussion will involve free trade and fair trade in agriculture.

 

The Agroforum brings together many leading figures and decision-makers in the agricultural sector - ministers of agriculture, senior officials, managers of agricultural universities, primary producers, processors and leaders of traders’ associations - from the Baltic Sea region, Eastern Europe and Western Asia.

The conference’s aim is to enhance cooperation on political, administrative, research and development and producers associations level in the region. Keynote speakers will be invited from the FAO, the WTO, the OECD and the European Commission.

The event will host separate plenary sessions and roundtables for each target group: representatives of the Commission and international organisations, ministers and senior officials, university managers, and sector representatives.
