26.07.2010 - The Minister of Agriculture met with farmers´ representatives in Jäneda

The Minister of Agriculture, Helir-Valdor Seeder assured today the farmers´ representatives at a meeting, which took place in course of Jäneda Farmers Days that active preparatory work has been started on the future of the Common Agricultural Policy. In order to have beneficial decisions for Estonia, the representatives of the republic must work towards achieving that target already today.

Yesterday, Estonian Minister of Agriculture Helir-Valdor Seeder and Georgian Minister of Agriculture Bakur Kvezereli signed the Memorandum of Cooperation, which concentrates on the development assistance provided by Estonia and on bilateral economic and trade relations in the field of agriculture and food production.

For the first time after the restoration of independence in Estonia, the Minister of Agriculture of Estonia met the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Viktor Zubkov and the Minister of Agriculture of Russia Jelena Skrõnnik, who invited him to Moscow to discuss the development of bilateral agricultural relations and to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation.
